Hi there I have got a Mac OSX version 10.4.11/ model iMac 5.1 desk top computer. I am limited on knowledge of the mac and want to know what to do to be able to face time? Do i need to download something , can anyone help please.

You need OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.x or above to Run FaceTime. Snow Leopard is only available through Apple's online store. I would recommend investigating to see if your machine can run FaceTime, a Mac running 10.4.1 has got to be close to 10 years old.
 
That's the "late 2006" model iMac, the last white-polycarbonate model, but with a Core 2 Duo CPU.

It can run up to OS X 10.7, and can handle FaceTime just fine. (I ran it on one, too, before 'upgrading' to the mid-2007 iMac that can run the latest OSes.)
