In an app that I am developing, I'd like to be able to warp the frequency of the sound that comes in from the microphone. This sound will not be played back. Instead, the app will use the warped sound to do its job.

EDIT: Can I use the Audio Queue API to do this?

That sounds interesting, but first a question:
What does your app do with the warped sound from the microphone, if it doesn't play the sound back?

There must be only a dozen or so major ways to warp sound.
The method that you use to "warp" sound would depend on what you mean by "warp".
