I hope someone can help, I want to sell my ist gen iphone on ebay and I would like to know how to completely wipe it so it is like new (i have 2.0 installed)

With a damp cloth? :D

In theory, you can just click "restore" on the software in iTunes, but if you want to be extra secure there's a good tutorial here about how to write over data.

Go to Settings, General, Reset, Erase All content and Settings . This will take about an hour, but is supposed to zero out all data securely
