hi all,
I am able to turn in my 3GS for a new iphone 4 under the 30 day Att policy. when I turn it in I don't want any personal info left for someone to get a hold of. I need to know step by step (I'm a little slow when it comes to all this new newfangled things) how to wipe out all the info, data, personal stuff, etc from my 3GS when I turn it over to ATT for a new iphone 4.

Thanks,
Mike

When you plug it in to your computer to sync, there's a restore button. I think there's a setting for "Restore to factory settings."

I'm in the same boat. I'm glad they are allowing the return!

Restore and setup as new.[/QUOthe question I have is does it really overwrite the data or just erase the memory pointers and leave the data on the phone. like reformatting a hard drive.
