I have an iPhone 6s+ (iOS 14.5) on and an iPad Pro M1 (iPadOS 14.6). I've always had iMessage and Text Message Forwarding off. But I'm thinking about turning them on, to sync messages across both of my devices.
Currently the only things I have using iCloud are Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Health, Wallet, Game Center, and a a couple of third party apps.
To enable iMessage sync and Text Message Forwarding, will I need to turn any thing else on, such as Keychain (I use 1Password, since I live in an Apple/Windows ecosystem.)?
Are there any downsides to using iMessage sync and Text Message Forwarding, that I should know about?
