"Manufacturuer refurbished?" If they're manufacturer refurbished, what are they doing on eBay?

The reason why I ask this question is because the Apple online refurb store no longer has any pre-touchbar MBPs for sale and I don't think I want/need a touchbar MBP.

You could clean up a Mac and sell it on eBay as 'refurbished' if you wanted.

eBay doesn't patrol their listing, unfortunately. These are not manufacturer-refurbished. All Apple has done is replaced the screens due to de-lamination and possibly replaced the battery if they were under the recall. These guys just buy used Macs and take them into the store and then re-sell them on eBay.

In general these sellers are pretty much trying to take advantage of people who don't know Macs very well. They will sell a 2012 non-Retina for way more than they are worth, misrepresenting them as 'OSX-2019', saying they have SSD's when they are hybrid 2.5" drive, and saying they have a 'warranty' when the warranty only covers the RAM/HD that they added.

Here's a video that talks about it:
