This phone is unbelievable, still yet to kill the battery or charge the phone a second time throughout the day, best I’ve hit is 8h30m usage with 37% left.

Had the phone on 4G full brightness today for around 4 hours smashing safari, back on WiFi now, still plenty left in the tank.

Can anyone actually use the whole battery in their normal usage pattern?

This is today, still have 41% left.

Maybe one day I’ll kill this battery. 😂

Remember my xs max had to be charged twice a day, 12 pro max is on another planet.

I feel battery life has improved in 14.4 on my 12 pro (not max). I hardly use any battery now. That said I haven't tested a monster expedition (a game on arcade), which used to kill my battery (must be lazy coding, because even though game is excellent, it is not visually stunning or fast paced).

I try to charge it before it hits about 30% however based on my use I think if I used it 10 hours straight the battery would reached 0%..

as for now it’s a 41%, charged to 95% 16.20 hours ago but with screen on time of about 5.30 hours only (30-40% brightness)
Is this normal?..

I’ve killed the battery before lol. There are days that I take pictures all day, and edit photos on my phone, which loses battery pretty quickly and it gets hot for me. I also use it as an entertainment device and watch Netflix, Hulu or Youtube while working from home. Doing a combination of these things leave me with about 15-10% by 8pm. If I’m not doing any of those things and just browsing through social media, texting, safari, and watching a few Youtube videos, it can easily last me the whole day.

I only ever get Close on weekends where I can get 8-9 hours screen time. During the week? Forget about that as I work 10 hours a day if I’m on my phone all day I won’t have a job to go back to.

during the week most days I finish the day on 40-50%

I'm genuinely surprised at some battery life's I'm seeing here, if I use my iPhone with about 30% brightness then maybe I'll get about 10 hours and that seemed about right.. I use Spotify, whatsapp, some not too heavy games and social media apps.. what am I doing wrong? All on wifi and most of location services off

Well; the Macrumours definition of killing a battery is probably different to most peoples. People here keep their battery between 80-20% or sometimes 80-30%; so when someone here say's kill a battery they're really only talking about draining it by half. Now I don't have the 12 pro max, but I am sure a few hours of video recording, or gaming on something battery intensive like COD mobile could kill the battery.

Spotify used to kill my battery! I dropped them for political reasons

Using the phone last couple of months I noticed that weekdays I get 2 days in a single charge, and weekends when I use it more I can get little more than a day, never been able to kill it in a day though.
I usually start with a full charge Monday morning, no overnight charging, I can go until Wednesday night with just charging in the car during commutes.

Go for a 8 hour drive with your phone connected to CarPlay via a wireless wifi dongle, that will do it :)

Well, everyone is different, but I’ve never ended a day (and I mean a full 24 hours, not just a work day or sleep to wake) with my 12 pro max having less than 50%. Tracking my battery stats, I get about 9-10 hours of screen on time on a full charge.

Usage is mostly social media, messaging, email, music, light web surfing, camera, and occasionally some YouTube, and calls. No gaming.

This keeping the battery between 80 and 20 makes no sense. Even if it does significantly improve battery longevity (and I don’t really think that it does), think about it logically...

In order to ensure that your battery keeps its full capacity, you only ever use 60% of the capacity? Doesn’t that defeat the whole purpose? What’s the point of going out of your way to keep the full capacity if you do that by never using the full capacity?!

Exactly, use my phone not worrying about what percentage my battery is at, whack it on charge in the morning till it’s full, then go again.

You're speaking to the crowd; I'm just saying what Macrumours bros do. I usually charge to 100 and let it drop below 20; couldn't care less about my battery health, I replace my phones every 1-2 years and I get applecare plus for if my battery health does drop below 80. Saying this, I've never noticed harsh degradation of my battery on any iPhone I've owned.

I've had days with my 11 Pro Max when I needed to charge it by 6-7PM, starting my day usually around 6:30, and I've had times where I haven't had to charge it until the 3rd day. Those are few and far between, but has happened. Just depends on what my day consists of. My norm is ending my day at around 60% give or take.
