how do ppl buy an iphone no plan?

I was curious how would u buy an iphone with no plan

like people that sold it on ebay right when they got it etc?

because i wanted one and use it with tmobile or suimthing just for example. thanks

Just go to an Apple store an buy it, or order it online (if you are in the US anyway). Pay the money and walk out. You don't sign any contract unless you activate it via iTunes.

When you buy an iPhone there's no plan or account attached to it. You get home and activate it through iTunes, which is when the plan is created. If you want to use it with TMobile, you'll have to unlock it first, which means you need to get one with firmware 1.1.1 or lower (the newest units in the stores have 1.1.2).
