If they don't make them anymore, how the hell do stores still sell them brand new, are they fakes?

Can't wait to find out lol

Please go to the nearest car dealership. I'm sure you will find new 2007, 2008 and 2009 models.

That's what i thought, but don't the batteries die sooner?

Batteries don't usually 'die' unless there is current flowing through it regularly. In other words, using an iPhone every day and charging it every night will cause the battery to lose capacity over time. This clearly can't happen if the iPhone has been sealed in a box and unused in almost two years. There's a guy here that bought a brand new, sealed iPod mini (discontinued way back in 2005) a few days ago that said they've had absolutely no problems with the battery after it was fully charged.
It really isn't that big an issue.

WHAT!, I never got my 1st gen replaced under the warranty because I thought I'd end up with a 3G!!! It crashes at least 5 times a day, and it's definitely not a software problem, and now my warranty's run out!!!

Warranty? Dude go to any Apple store, show them the problem. They have a diagnostic program that will check logs and see crashing and other issues.

Usually they'll replace it for you. They have a stock of 1st gen phones for swaps. I've had my 1st gen iPhone swapped twice as recently as 4 months ago. I might actually have to go again because the phone they gave me has a lot of light leaking.

I think he is implying that his AppleCare coverage has expired, therefore an exchange wouldn't work without money out of his pocket.

I wish i could get a 1st gen iPhone...

I have a 3G one but it would just be nice to have an original.

Hmmm, Well I suppose could give it a try, I have 02 insurance, but that would mean being without it for a day or so, and don't think i'd be able to cope,
