I know the actual connector is the same size but how do the old band lugs fit, are they obviously a different profile or is it something that you can only notice with a macro lens? I think some news article mentioned they're all compatible, but then when I go to the Apple website, it specifies the 40mm SE and 42mm Series 10 as different but states that the larger 46mm is compatible with the 44mm.

I have a few woven nylon bands from the 38mm and on my 40mm case and they are a tiny bit recessed. However, with my vision I can't really notice it, I just wonder how much the new 42mm series 10 has changed?

Anyone happen to have a 38/40/41mm band with flush profiles and a new 42mm Series 10 and willing to share a picture? Anyone else losing sleep over this most insignificant of questions?

Cheers ;)

I was worried about this, as well. I have a link bracelet from my original series 0 black SS 38 mm.

I’m happy to report that it looks great with the jet black aluminum 42 model. It is slightly recessed, but I’m not sure it wasn’t about the same with the 38.

Before anyone comments on the watch condition, it’s dirty. Not scratched. I didn’t realize how dirty until I snapped the pics. I’ve had no issues with the jet black finish in the short time I’ve had the watch. IMG_8433.jpegIMG_8432.jpeg

Oh thank you folks! You're right, the recessed band is far less obvious than if it were too big, especially when looking face on at the watch, or when the band has a different materiality like the sports band. @JDnLex don't worry about the watch, it looks fine, I don't know who can possibly keep a mirror-finish device pristine, it's meant to be used.

It's a shame they're not perfect fit, but this lets me steady my expectations.

Thanks again and if anyone else wants to share some pics for the benefit of future fit-curious visitors, the more the merrier!

My iPhone camera captures the tiny gap between the new 42 and the pre-S10 38-41 bands on it. Here’s a close up shot of it. Silver is the 40 SE, the plum band is 40/41 and the gold series 10 is a 42. White solo loop is a new 42 bands.

It is flush for the 41mm but it is a bit looser on the S10 from my experience
