Hi All,

Just had Time Warner cable modem installed in my house. It's their $29.99/month 10Mbps plan

Down 25.5 to 26.7 Mbps

Up 0.89 to 0.97

Thanks

I pay $60/month for Comcast 25Mbps download 4Mbps upload speeds service.
When I signed up they gave me 6 months for half price $30/month.

How is it possible to get faster results than what your service is supposed to give you?

Here is a copy of a test I just ran. The Download speeds vary by +/- 3 or 4 but the upload speed is almost always the same.

So I guess this is not bad??

Different server test.

It is possible to get "faster" because your service is probably 10MB (note the capitalization for bytes) which is equal to 80Mbps (lowercase bits)

1MB = 8Mb

so technically you are getting duped, you should be getting more like 40-50Mbps realistically though your service claims 80Mbps

so 24Mbps is closer to 3MB which isn't actually all that great.

Matt

WHAT ? :eek:
I have Comcast in Portland and I pay $99.99 a month for 50Mbs
note to self : contact Comcast ASAP
Your question was for Eddyisgreat, but Lerxst answered anyway. Lerxst doesn't have the same service as Eddyisgreat, so you're not being overcharged (any more than Comcast usually does!)
