I'm having a really hard timing figuring out how to do things in iMovie.

I can add clips but when I select the theme it's not applied to the movie. Also there are no options for adding text.

Has anyone figured it out?
Thanks

Tap on the video clip and then add the theme by tapping the little sprocket before your video clip. Then, when you have your theme up, double tap on the clip and then it will bring up your editing options. And when your theme is applied, you can tap inside the "text boxes" in your video and it will bring up the text editor. It takes a little playing around with to get used to. Personally, i dont think it was worth 4.99 though...

Here is a sample video of what i did on youtube...

Video Clip Using iMovie (720p)

Hope that helps!

From what I have figure out you have to start the theme with a video. Then just double tap on the video in the timeline and a menu will open up.

hahaha yeah at the start of that drive is where my development turns onto hoernerstown rd. Small world... You're from Harrisburg/Hershey area?

It took me a while to figure out also. While the app is cool and good for people who have never edited a movie it is way too limited...you are limited to the titles that are in the theme, you can't move the text around. There is only a cross dissolve transition, and from what I can tell you can't add titles to a photo that you added to your project. Hopefully they will add some more stuff in an update, but with the whole reception issue I'm not expecting much.

yea it also took me a while (and some web browsing) to figure out that if you start a movie with a pic, the theme doesnt get added in. you have to start off with a video clip in order to take full advantage of the themes. I wanted to make a nice slideshow from some pictures i had on my iphone, but i guess i cant. hopefully an update will fix that.
