How do you change appearance of folders?

How do you change the outlook of the folders? like in windows if i want my photo folder to look like a camera or my mac HD to look like something else than a HD, etc...

for system governed icons you will have to manually change them like this...

Thanks guys but still i am confused:

1- Candy bar: looks good but a trialware...i hate trying things that i know i am not willing to pay aterwards.

2- The apple site link is just telling me how to copy the icon of one folder and paste it to another...what i would like is changing an icon by accsessing an icon library and not copying on to another...i.e i do not see the point to copy my HD icon on the idisk icon for example. i would rather access o a libraiiry with several icon i can chose. i.e music instruments for my music folder, etc...is there an icon ist hidden somewhere?
