I'm using Leopard. Is there a way to change screenshots so they don't save as png? Say maybe gif or jpeg? I googled, but all the ways I've found require extra software or terminal. Is there an easier way?

You could also download something like TinkerTool (I think it's a preference pane) that allows you to change the format if you're not comfortable using the Terminal.

As miles01110 mentioned, use TT if your not comfy using Terminal, thinking about it TinkerTools maybe the best way to go, it's a good little app for a few other things too :)

..and if you don't like that Onyx will do it as well.

Once the screen shot has saved itself to the desk, Just open it with another app. like grafic Converter. or Photoshop then save it in the format you want.
