how do you check sms text without iPhone?

If I lost my iPhone, how could I check my sms text messages (received)? I'm using verizon.

You need to activate another cellphone with your phone number.
Then the texts will come to that.

But not any that were already sent prior to activating the new phone.

Those ones are probably gone forever if you can't find your phone. I say probably because if the lost phone is off, you MAY receive any texts that were sent while it is off, on your new phone. I wouldn't count on it though.

Correct.
Most likely they went to the lost phone.
So once he activates a new phone with his number from then on the new texts will arrive there.
