What's the best way? My keys have gotten a little bit of smudge from my fingers. I don't want to use a strong solution, because I think that would take off the paint.

I shut down. I use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, wet it, wring out any excess water, then wipe down the whole computer (except screen), drying with a clean dry cloth. It takes all few minutes.

I shut down, moisten three kitchen towels, wipe it down with that.

For the screen, I use a dry Kleenex.

Seems to work well thus far.

iklear and a microfiber cloth. I use that on the case, keyboard, and lcd.

I use the same method and wouldn't use anything else. I also got a keyboard cover so that no dust would get under it, and the keys would remain clean when typing.

p.s. Although, the keyboard cover may put grease stains on the LCD monitor if you're not careful.

Thanks for the replies. As for the iKlear, will that dim the paint, or eventually remove it?

iklear is a very mild, neutral (neither base or acidic) cleaning solution. If you can use it on your LCD monitor, you can use it on everything else.

i just use a microfibre cloth, dampened with water, all over my MBP. When it is shutdown, and battery removed of course. Do this probably once a week.

I use a microfiber cloth on the screen, keyboard, outside case and the palm/wrist resting area. They work very well and I bought them off of eBay for less then ten dollars in total.

This type of foam is micro-abrasive, so after time may damage the keys.

We use the ShaggMac Grubby Sticks w/ Optimist Prime cleaner with excellent results.
