Don't pay for some expensive cleaner. I use a solution of 1/3 rubbing alcohol and 2/3 water on a microfiber cloth and it looks good as new, PLUS it works on the screen as well.

This in my opinion is the optimal way of cleaning a laptop. I also only use water on my micro-fiber cloth when cleaning the screen. I would also suggest thoroughly blasting your laptop in all its holes and crevasses with a can of compressed air before doing the wipe down.

use your laundrette and then your dryer... should be pretty easy... use cold water though, you don't want to spoil your computer...

If you blast the grilles, keyboard with canned air, wont the dust go even DEEPER? the point of attempting to clean it is to get the dust OUT right?

Unless the mentality is that "If I don't see dust directly, then it is clean"

It is just a can of compressed air..it does wonders for cleaning IMO..you can pick it up at your local walmart or best buy..look in the electronics section, they usually have it there (if going to Wal-Mart)

I can't believe no one has said this yet.
This works great for MBPs and exceptionally on a white macbook.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser -- you can't beat it.
