How do you connect a TC to a D-Link wirelessly?

Apple tells me the TC can connect to my D-Link router, and D-Link tells me that the router can be connected to, but no one seems to know how to do it. I have searched and searched to no avail.

Does anyone know how to connect the TC to the D-Link to "extend" my wireless setup?

connect and extend are 2 different things.

to connect: on the TC set it to join your existing network, which would give you wireless access to the drive and whatever you have connected to it.

extending only works if you have all apple devices.
(it can be done with some non-apple devices, but not easily, and not without a good amount of networking know how)
