Apps How do you connect apple watch to endomondo

I have an Apple watch and installed endomondo. I can start walks etc fine from my watch but was hoping it would track my heart rate to.

In settings on the endomondo app on my iPhone it says Apple watch, clicking this option just says "no apple watch connected" ....it is as it works! So what is this option, and why doesn't it show my watch as connected?
