How do you delay a text message's delivery?

Is there a way to type a text message and delay delivery of it? Say you want to send a message to someone but don't want to it to send yet because it's too early. When the time comes, the phone will automatically send it? How can I do this?

As far as i'm aware you will need to jailbreak to do this. BiteSMS does it i think.

Can't you just type it and leave it in the text field until you're ready to send it?
