How do you describe amateur design, where you create things out of collages?

Say you're not skilled in sketching or using graphic design tools, but you have good designs in your head, so to get them onto a canvas you kinda just create collages from other designs, with notes and explanations for an actual skilled designer to do a proper job on.

What is the name for this kind of process or technique?

Reason I want to know is because I want an iPad app that lets me do this easily! Posted here in Community because I think we have a lot of creatives in here and wanted to catch their eye.

I think the term you're asking for is mockup. If you search for "graphical design mockup," you'll get some results.
