How do you do print screens?

I know I'm late but I just found out that you can do print screens on the iPhone when I was looking through my picture gallery and saw an image of my lock screen. However, I have NO idea how I did it or how it got there. Can someone help me out? I must've accidently pressed something.

Home button + top button to turn on/off. Press them at the same time and bam.

I was actually playing around with the phone not even looking at it when I heard the shutter sound. Took me a few minutes to figure out what the hell I did.
