How do you edit the duration of a clip when using iMovie?

Right now I'm trying to make an anime music video for my younger brother. I've taken some of the clips from my dvds and i've imported them already. Also I've divided the clips into certain parts. I want to edit the duration of each clip but I don't know how. Can you please help me. I'm using iMovie HD by the way since I have a iBook G4
