Do the Apple Stores keep extra stock for exchanges? Do you just have to wait weeks? Try to randomly walk in the store and hope they have stock?

Just curious…

You stalk the reservation page in the morning. Buy the new phone. Return the old one.

Or wait for whatever delivery date is available.

Thank you! “Stalk the reservation page” as in trying to order the new model for pick-up at your local Apple Store when they open online? Or do all Apple Stores update their stock/online pick-up access at the same time?

Or use this site. Enter your zip and the one you are looking for. This only pulls what is available for in store pick up availability. Ymmv

I keep refreshing that page like crazy. I need to swap out my device or another and the only ones that keep popping in and out are 512gb and 1TB.

Does apple have stock in the store for walk-ins separate of the online pick-up? Or are these sites pretty accurate?

I’m in your position, and I’m just now got one using this site and refreshing my Apple store page incessantly while doing other work. After I ordered mine, the green changed to red on iphonechecker, so I’d say it’s at least that accurate. Good luck!

I have an apple store about 15 mins from me so I may take a ride just to see. It cant hurt, I'm sure its sold out though. Hopefully one pops in for me on that site and I can order right away.

people do cancel....

looking at my Apple Store online order history from last year, I placed 6 orders for iPhone 13 Pro Max. Cancelled 5 of them. I ordered one and waited... if the next nearest store had it in stock, I placed another order and cancelled the existing one. I assume that the one that I cancelled and didn't pick up became available for the next person online.. or whoever happen to be in the store at the time?

Did exactly this on Saturday morning. Got 14 Pro purple, didn't like the color nor the size, Saturday morning they had 14 Pro Max in gold for a few minutes. Bought it on the spot and returned the 14 Pro at the same time as picking up my new one.
