I've a got a chance to use airdrop between two iPhones lately (iPhone 5 and iPhone 6, both on iOS 8.0.2). I wanted to transfer some videos and images from iPhone 6 to iPhone 5 and the experience was so bad. Below is a list showing what drove me crazy when dealing with airdrop:

• Airdrop target detection is totally unreliable.
I have to turn on and off airdrop many times on both phone to get one detect the other.
• Never able to transfer large files.
The largest file I was able to send over airdrop was 20s 1080 video. Files larger than that would get sent but fail in the middle.
• The targeted phone gets no request to receive the file.
So many times when I tapped the airdrop target on one phone, the other phone just couldn't be notified of the request at all.

Yes, bumping into each other's phone looks awkward, but if you ask me, I would say the "It just works" is way more important than being cool. What's your experience?

I haven't had any problems with airdrop myself, has always worked when I needed it.
