I've seen pictures of this, but I have no idea how to enable it on 3.0?

Please help

It's not a feature of 3.0, but there are two ways to get it:

1. Hack your phone and enable it.
2. Buy an iPhone 3G S.

This is how you do it. Jailbreak your phone, get SSPrefs. Enable battery percentage. Then, sync. Now restore your iphone to the NORMAL firmware (if you want).

It will stick through the sync'd jailbreak without the actual jailbreak.

The developer versions of 3.0 has it. Engadget probably had loners for review purposes.

I'm pretty sure all 3.0 beta's had this..on the 3G

Nope.

Look at the first video:http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/17/iphone-3g-s-review/

The phone on the left is a 3G, the one on the right is a 3G S. Both have the digital battery meter.

They used method #1 in my post.
