Just had a lot of fun trying to back out of the 11.3 Beta release on an M-1 based mac. Here's what I did:
- Removed the Beta profile from my computer.
- Went into recovery mode with the Big Sur 11.0 install flash drive that I had made a while ago plugged in. Figured that I'd install 11.0, then install the 11.2.3 update and voila. Tried to install it, recovery would not allow it because the system had 11.3 Beta on it.
- Went to where I could erase the disks to "completely" get rid of the 11.3 Beta. Erased everything, to the point where I had to re-activate macOS.
- Went through the installation using the Big Sur 11.0 flash drive.
- Restored data from a Time Machine backup that was made before I had installed the Big Sur 11.3 Beta.
And, whaddaya know, when the mac finally came up after all that, it had Big Sur 11.3 Beta on it. Somehow Apple knew that I wanted Big Sur 11.3 Beta, when even I didn't know that *smile*.
Okay, so how in the world can I end up with Big Sur 11.2.3 on my computer? Is there any way to do that, or do I have to wait for the official 11.3 release and hope that Apple deigns to give me that?
