I tried enabling iCloud Photos on the Apple TV, but it seems that like all my photos were suddenly available to look at on the TV?
I have tons of Mac screenshots, stocks screenshots, etc.. I just would like to share my photos of my kid. Is there a way to only share photos that are annotated to be the kid from the face recognition? Is there a way to only share a single album where I can put all the photos of him in? How are people usually using iCloud Photos on the Apple TV?

Thanks

Do you sync with your Mac? If you keep your photos on your Mac too- IMO a very good idea than solely trusting "the cloud"- you can make an album of only your kid photos (or several albums if you have some others you would like to share with the TV too) and then use the Computers (not the Photos) app on AppleTV to view them.

  1. Create the album(s) you want to display on your TV in Photos (app) on the Mac.
  2. Go into System Preferences on that Mac, Sharing, Click the Media Sharing box, turn on Home Sharing, check "Share Photos with AppleTV"
  3. Click Choose button to the right of that to select only the albums you want to display on the TV...

After doing this, look in the Computers app (orange icon) on Apple TV, Photos tab and they should be there. Enjoy!

Else, if you definitely want to keep it in the cloud, here's the step by step from Apple: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202786

It is fairly easy to setup iCloud Photos albums and share them between some or all of your Apple devices, including the ATV. As already stated above, I suggest creating some albums to organize your favorite photos then share them with the ATV.
