can you not slect it in time machine preferences

this is assuming you have disk mode enabled in itunes for your video

Just a random guess but have you tried "enabling disk use" on the iPod?
I doubt it would work but worth a try i guess!?
Why not just buy an external hard drive????

To manually enable Disk Mode on your iPod, force it to restart by holding down the center and top buttons (menu?), and then while it is restarting, continue holding down the center button along with the bottom button (play?) until you see it boot do disk mode. Plug it in and it will appear on your desktop like a hard drive.
