Just got my green silicone case for my 12 mini and while I LOVE the look and feel of the case I just put it down on my dock and now all kinds of dust and hair is stuck to it. Am I just OCD? What do you guys think?

That seems to be worse this year than in the past, my guess is due to some change in the material or manufacturing process. My wife has always preferred the silicone cases but this year after using the blue one for a couple of weeks, she switched to the blue leather because of how smudgy and dusty the silicone was. She’s much happier with the leather one as it seems to have somewhat better grip this year.

I deal with it by not using them. A bit pathetic that they can’t come up with anything better for £50.

Apple should adopt a TPU like Case rather than silicone like Caudabe etc.

I bet they’d sell more.

I love the feel of the silicone cases. However, I agree this year the material seems different. Usually when I get a new silicone case it takes a few weeks to “break in” and feel really soft. This one still hasn’t gotten to that point.
My absolutely favorite silicone cases were the Torras Love Series cases. I contacted them and they are not offering them for the 12’s. 😩

Agreed. I had the black silicone case on my 12 since launch until my Nomad arrived. I’ve since returned it. If Apple made a case similar to Caudabe and it fit snug I’d buy it for $50 from Apple.

I'm new to Apple's silicone cases. It doesn't seem to be attracting much lint anymore after week, but are the smudges normal? Thx!

Im getting smudges on the case, and don’t usually smudge things Up. I’m wondering if I should switch to the leather case instead

Yeah...they patina with use for sure, similar to how the leather cases do. After time, you'll feel smoother areas on the back where you rest your fingers the most. I love it, they are the best feeling cases for me personally.

Get some Novus #1 plastic polish and try cleaning the silicone case with it. This stuff works wonders on plastic and rubber.

I agree with you about the great feeling once it develops the “patina”. I’ve had mine since new and usually after a few weeks it get that broken in feeling. Still not yet.

I had a Caudaube Sheath on my 11 pro but the only thing I didn’t like was the texture. Far too rough. It was like holding sandpaper.
