Hi everyone -

Sorry for the beginner question, but I ordered an iPhone 6 and this is my first time having an iPhone. I am coming from android.

I want to know what is the best way to know if you have a new alert (new text, email, etc)? Since there is (apparently) no alert LED light, what is the most common way to know you have an alert waiting?

Either:
- have the volume on
- have vibration on
- have the camera LED flash for notifications

Make sure that you have the notifications you wish to see turned on in notification center to show on the lock screen. When you press the home button it will show whatever you missed on the lock screen, you can choose to limit it to 5 recent for stuff so if you get a hundred emails you see 5. Once you unlock the phone they will show up when you pull down the notification center, but no longer on the lock screen.

I think you will find it nice that there is a central setting menu to handle all notifications as opposed to android where notification settings are tucked away in the individual applications (I tried a galaxy for a week and this was my biggest complaint, I didn't hate android I just liked iOS better and chose to stay.)

Touch the home button and it's on the screen.

I'm probably the minority, but I miss the blinky notification light. It's the one feature that I miss from my blackberry.
