I agree that it would be nice if OS X had an option in System Preferences to determine the behavior when the lid is closed, but if OS X did everything, I guess there would be no need for 3rd party apps.i've downloaded insomniax. it works perfectly. many thanks! it's odd that OSX doesn't any such ability built in????
