I am looking for a way to lock my desktop, just like the windows program Desktop Lock does. I don't want any thing that will just log me out or take me to user select screen.

I need something that will allow me to continue all programs running, like a download, and allow me to be away from my mac over night, or all day long.

Many thx to those who help me.

Open a program in your Utilities folder called Keychain Access.

Go to it's preferences.

Go to the General tab.

Check the "Show status in menu bar" checkbox.

Go to your menu bar, there's now a padlock icon. Click it and select "lock screen".

Uhh where can i find the keychain access preferences? cant seem to find it...

EDIT: oh found it.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

This helped me a lot!

What i do are: Have a hot corner that starts screen saver and have enabled the option require password to wake this computer from sleep or screensaver.

No apps needed and you only have to move you mouse. Not even click:p
