How do you mount something to brick?

I have a brick fireplace and want to mount a framed picture onto it. How do I do this? Do I need special tools or something? What is there to consider?

You might be able to use something like this.

Otherwise, you may need to drill some sort of mounting device into the mortar or brick to hang it up.

Just bang a couple of thin nails into the mortar.

I've mounted a bunch of stuff to brick. I would recommend getting a masonry drill bit that can drill through brick and concrete and drilling a hole and then blow it out with a turkey baster. Then insert your anchors and there you go.
