I tried 'share' to send it in email but maybe the file was too heavy because it didn't work.

I know to move pictures or movies you can use Image Capture but is there something to move the recordings too?

Recently I’ve been using airdrop to move videos from my iMac to my iPhone. They go straight into VLC and that works fine for me. If you use a PC not a Mac, I’m afraid I’ve no idea.

Airdrop to a compatible Mac.
iMessage to a compatible Mac.

Share to Google Drive or OneDrive. Works with Windows and Mac (and I guess Linux and Android too).

Google Drive/DropBox, or if you are OK with USB connection (as you've mentioned Image Capture), you can try iMazing. It's not syncing the device, so no data will be lost like with iTunes if this is your main concern.
