How do you navigate your spaces when you are up to 7-8 of them?

Hitting the mission control key and then mousing over the top and then selecting the one you want. Isn't exactly efficient when you have to do this frequently.

Keyboard shortcut is manageable I find up to 4-5 spaces, but it gets to 7-8 it's really hard to press ctrl-8 etc.
Any ideas?

I do a 3 finger swipe on my Magic Trackpad
I have 3 monitors set up separately so swiping only changes the Space on that monitor

That's actually a great solution, I wasnt aware that spaces are localized to the monitor. That way it keeps it manageable. But too bad I only have one monitor (with imac )

Logitech mouse, with buttons set to move thru desktops right & left, or one set to bring up mission control.
