SOLVED:
google iPhoneFixPng, download it, and, problem solved!

I want to change what my iPod touch's volume dot looks like, so I shh'd my iTouch, took the default off of customize and put it on my desktop, but whenever I try to open it, a error message comes up saying that the files corrupted. I tried opening other pngs from customize, and I always get the error. I tried googling it, and came up with nothing.

Anyhelp?

(Oh, and I tried opening it with paint and window's picture program)

Instead of googling try searching on iPhone-specific forums like this one. Customize isn't fully compatible with 114 yet and you can't view Apple's images on the phone.

Actually, I've found the iTouch's version is irrelevant to the problem.

Let me rephrase my problem:

-I got the picture of the volume dot out of the customize folder on my iTouch by SSH'ing it
-I copied the volume dot picture (a png) onto my desktop, so I can change it.
-When I try to open the .png, a error comes up telling me that the pictures corrupted and cant be opened.

How do I open it?

Thanks

Yooo

You should really play around with it yourself and try to learn how to do it without your hand being held the whole way.....

Just rename it as a jpg, edit it however you want, then when you save it, get rid of the jpg and rename it to png.

Easy as your mom and apple pie :D

Its as simple as renaming the extension?

Edit:
Tried changing the file extension, and it still says its corrupted.

I've tried every photo editing software that I have (including photoshop), still can't open it.

Coletrain, you, apparently from what you've said seem to know how to fix it. Any help?

Photoshop WILL OPEN .png and save as .png. If it isn't, then uninstall and reinstall photoshop. Get a newer version, perhaps something from the post millenium.

What i know, unfortunatelly photoshop can't open png files from iphone..
There is way how to convert them and open later but only for mac users:(
( not me yet  )
if anyone know about something for windows be great

Mac user here - cannot open png photoshop

I have not found a solution either - most seem to be solutions for pc to convert them. Hmm.
