How do you organize your iPhone pictures?

So, until now every time I get a new iPhone I move all my pictures to a new folder/album, so basically I have:

Photo roll
01 iPhone 3G pics
02 iPhone 4 pics
03 iPhone 5 pics

But one thing that has only annoyed me is that in the photo roll all the pictures are mixed: both the ones that I've taken, images I received through WhatsApp/iMessage/Telegram, selfies, and screenshots. In iOS 9 the last two have been solved, but I still have tons of crap mixed among my real pictures.

So, what's your approach to organize your photos?

It's all in one lump. Certain events, I will categorise into folders, but that's pretty much it.
