I just bought a 2010 MacBook Pro (coming from a 2006 CD MacBook). I used to call my MacBook "MacBook" but saying MacBook Pro seems too much.

How do y'all call it? Maybe just Mac?

I refer to it by the first three options,Although some people think I actually have a plastic MacBook but then I correct them and tell them I have the 2011 MBP.

"my Mac", or "my <MacBook/iMac>", or "my computer". The additional pro makes it too long to say easily, and usually people don't really even know the difference, or care, about MacBook vs MacBook Pro.

Unless clarification is needed for service/discussion purposes "My Mac" says it all.

"My computer". In general I dislike being specific about brand- or product-names unless it's necessary to avoid confusion or it feels natural to do so.

It depends on whether I am looking at a spinning beachball or not. If not, then it's my laptop or my MacBook Pro. If the beachball is there, then words that the site censor would replace with asterisks.

I don't have a MBP (yet) but I refer to my computers (a Mac Mini and a white MacBook) as "my computer" or "my laptop".

I never subscribed to the whole "if I say my Mac or my MacBook and call my phone my iPhone instead of my phone, people will think I'm really cool, rich and hip and want to be friends with me!!!111onetwothree" ideology.

I've never heard anyone say "my Ford" to refer to their car, and if I did, I'd probably think "wow, how odd", so I try to not to do the same for my computers or mobile phone. :)

My computer
My laptop
MacBook
MacBook Pro
Anti-windows device
FrankenBook (my personal name for one that is horribly beat up and made from 3 different models)
CrapBook (for upper macbook when it gets buggy on me)
Its a windows disguised as a macbook

My girlfriend
Future wife (dont tell her about the iMac!)
etc... the list goes on...

Computer.. that's it! Although it gets confusing when there's more than one in the house lol..

But, that's it.. No fixation with material items!

I call mine "My portable Apple 2e". It rolls off the tongue better than "My Computer" or "My MacBook Pro".

I love my MBP. I refer to it as one of my kids all of the time. It rounds out my technological little family with my X-box being the oldest, the MBP being the middle child and my kindle being like dog or cat.
