My question in the header pretty much says it all.

I'm working on a firewire drive, I put a number of folders within
another folder and now I want to remove them all from the folder
and have them sitting out on their own in the item list.

Dumb question I'm sure, but I'm stuck.

Thanks,

David

I like to drag in column view, but you can open up two windows and drag them to a second window which is where you would like them to be :)

Open two Finder windows, one with the folders you want moved and one of the folder you want to move them to and then drag and drop from one window to another?

Thanks for the quick answer.

That's pretty much what I did, column view, then dragged the folders in
the folder, out into the same column that the folder that held them was in.
It won't do it for some reason.
Is there a modifier key I should hold down or something?

Thanks,

David

...in other words the window I want the bunch-of-folders in a folder to reside in
is the same window the folder that holds the bunch-of-folders is in.
Does that make any sense?

David

Ok...think I got it.
Thanks all, column view now seems to do the trick.
Sorry for the dumbness...
Too much time editing video...brain dead but appreciative for the help
and the patience...
