How Do You Send a Text Msg From A Verizon iphone??

Hi guys...just got my Verizon iphone today. Love it, BUT I dont see any "text msg" button like my old Razr phone had. How do you send a txt message to another user if you dont know what their providor is??

There is a button that says messages you send all your txt from there
