How do you set iCloud not to fetch constantly to save battery?

Is there a way to have iCloud only sync when I want it to? I don't need my iPhone constantly searching for things to push to my other devices. Is there a way only to have it push when I want it to? Kind of like how you can turn off Wi-Fi or have email pushed manually?

All iCloud stuff pretty much only pushes on wifi. Backups and wifi sync only happen when plugged in. I doubt the Photostream stuff is going to significantly affect your battery.
