How do you sort music by 'Artist' instead of 'Album Artist'?

Ever since the new update was released when I am listening to music and try to find a song by the artist it lists the album artists instead. I download a lot of mixtapes online and the album artist field isn't always filled out so the artist name doesn't even show up. Is there anyway to change this so that when I click artist it actually brings me to the artist names instead of the album artist names?

i dont even see a Artist Album in the Music App, i obviously know the column you mean in iTunes but my phone only shows Playlist, Artist, Song, Album, than in more i see Composers, and Genres

Yeah, what I mean is when I am clicking the artist button on the iPhone it is bringing me to the Album Artist column from iTunes instead of the Artist column.

In short, you can't. This isn't an option in iOS. The only thing you can do is go fix the metadata in iTunes to be what you want to show up.

I was also annoyed that songs from albums that were by 'Various Artists" were showing up under that instead of the song's artist. This should fix it without having to change all your song info.

Settings -> Music -> Group By Album Artist: OFF
