How do you take a pic from your own phone?

sorry I did a search but could not find anything. the other day I was looking at my photos and I noticed that I was able to take a snapshot of my text messeges. can anybody tell me how I did that? thanks

To take a screenshot, press the home button and the sleep/wake button at the same time.

This will take a picture of the current screen and deposit it into the camera roll.

EDIT: I guess I take longer to type...

I think your after the 'screen capture' ability...
Press the home and and press the OFF/LOCK button on the top of the iPhone
the screen will flash and its in the camera roll!
