Hi Guys,

Anyone know how we can determine if our iPhone 13 Pro has a Samsung display or a Chinese BOE display.

What’s wrong with BOEing displays ???
In 2020, Chinese BOE was supposed to be a supplier of displays for iPhone 12. The quality did not meet Apple standards so the contract was cancelled. Any displays that were produced were then used by Apple’s refurb program For replacement displays.

Samsung invented AMOLED mobile displays and is obviously the undisputed leader in quality, R&D, and technology.

So you can have a top grade screen instead of a second grade screen

Look at the display is my advice. Return the device if the display isn’t to your liking.
Buy from Apple directly and enjoy two weeks return period.

Solved.

Next!

Please provide citations for the three claims in the first three sentences.

And even that wouldn’t be enough to make an objective evaluation of display quality in 2022.

BOE screens are obviously inferior. If I'm spending $1,200 on a phone obviously I want a Samsung display.
If they’re obviously inferior you should be able to see the difference.

If you can’t see the difference then guess what? It doesn’t matter.

BOE did try to supply Apple, but were never successful in 2020. They then got accreditation then lost it again. Then suggestions when they get it back they may only supply refurb but nothing concrete was stated.

Their post has some validity but there’s a lot of “maybes” stated as fact

Thanks for the links. I agree, this is all plenty of speculation talk treated as facts. And as I wrote that doesn’t necessarily have any meaning for the quality of the displays used on a later product two years down the line.

If the supplier passed apples inspections and meets the quality requirements. Then it’s fine.

Not so great press about BOE doesn't seem hard to find, the OPs concerns aren't unjustified. If offered a clear choice I wouldn't buy one either.

Better return your iPhone and never buy one again.

100% of iPhones use battery packs made by Shenzhen-based Desay and Sunwoda.
