I've tried typing on the tiny iPhone keyboard with 2 thumbs to better simulate touch typing, but, I found that my thumbs are too big and the results are less accurate. So, I've started just using one index finger to type things out. It's a bit slower but more accurate.

How about you?

I use two thumbs. Even though it's inacurate, the phone usually corrects the mistypes and spelling.

I started with my index fingers, and still do when just looking for a letter. I have large fingers and using my thumbs works fine.

With the phone in portrait view, I type using just my index finger, but when in landscape mode in safari with a larger keyboard, I usually try to use both thumbs.

Two thumbs when I'm typing anything relatively long. I can actually go pretty fast with ~90% accuracy which equates to 99% accuracy after auto correct

Sometimes I'm only hold the phone with one hand and I'll just sneak around with the side of my thumb while I hold it, though.

Right thumb only, unless I am in landscape, in which I use two thumbs.

I have large hands/fingers, and I have no problem typing quickly while holding the phone in my right hand and typing with my right thumb just like the old keypad phones.

Never got the hang of two thumbed typing. In the 14 months I've had the phone, I've learned to type quickly enough with one finger.

I've only had mine for 3 days. I discovered that using both thumbs, I can type very fast and the phone corrects almost every error with incredible accuracy.

Believe me... I'm not even trying very hard to press the right letters and the dammed thing can still figure out what I'm trying to say. It's awesome! :)

one finger

Even though my hands are small, I find that I am faster, and more accurate, typing with my right forefinger.

I type around 70 wpm on a regular keyboard, but two thumbs just render me all thumbs on the iPhone touch screen keypad:D

Try using both thumbs and contacting the screen with the "fat" part of the thumb rather than the thumb tips - that way incidental contact is left and right of the center of the thumb and gives you a more accurate selection.:)
