How do you understand Battery usage and health?

Hey guys, I’m not a very smart guySo I need help and guidance understanding the Apple’s Battery section in Settings.

Screen On time makes no sense to me, it says 5 hours of screen on time, but I only used it for 40 mins since last charge. Why doesn’t it give me the screen on time since I last charged it? Is their a way to do so?

All the measurements are for the last 24 hours (or 10 days if you so select).
As far as I am aware there is no way to see stats since the last charge.
