How do you uninstall on a Mac?

I am trying to uninstall some software of my mac but i'm not sure how to. do you just remove from appliactions to trash?

Yep.

And if you want to be picky, run a search (apple-F) for any file with the apps name in it to pick up any stray preference files, and trash those as well.
