no its from the apple servers but there have been bug issues and stuff search the iPhone forums u will see all about it

You can, however, buy apps from the app store through iTunes, but you can't install them on any devices yet.

well actually, the shipping 3G phones are using build number 5A345, the release im using now with the link off MacRumors is build number 5A347,

so im using a newer build than the shipping phones?
it isnt a pre-release and the stability issues are just because it is a sophisticated operating system and crashes happen. Even though this is a lot more stable than 1.0 was,
