I am considering picking one up just to start keeping track of my heart. But since I don't even use a regular watch let alone owned a smart watch, I am not sure what else it can do.

So I was wondering how you use your watch so I can get an idea of how to use it

I mainly use mine to track my daily movement and make sure I get enough movement throughout the day. It is also quite handy for running (I use mine with the AirPods so I don't have to bring my phone), for setting timers, reading messages and seeing who is calling.

Almost everything. 😳

Track exercise. Track movement. Track sleeping. Track water & vitamin consumption (using Streaks). Noise level detection. Checking in places (Swarm). Listening to music and Podcasts. Shazam. Notifications. Messaging. Telephone. etc.. 😳😳

Track sleeping? How the?

Everything really...time, notifications, workouts, steps, texts, sport scores. Don’t think I could cope without it to be honest.

So do you guys use the regular or cellular models? Is it worth the extra cost?

What is it looking for?
Many things.

I had the SS series 5 and returned it for the nike series 5 GPS only. I did not use cellular as i don’t have a need for it to be honest. I always have my iphone with me and i think it does take a big hit on battery life.

if you go on runs it’s good i guess but if i was going on a run the last thing i would be thinking about would be calls or notifications.

Oh my, I never knew... Guess I will pick one up sooner than expected

I see, so the GPS only model has more battery life. Really good to know. How long do they take to charge? If you are supposed to wear them to sleep, when can you charge them?

You are looking at 60-90 mins full charge i would say...i always charge at night so can’t confirm 100% on that though.

battery life issues is there with the current watchOS and series 5 so i wouldn’t recommend using your watch without your phone for long if you get the cellular.

I have had issues battery life wise with my SS series 5 but my GPS only it lasted near the 18 hours that is projected. Was on 5% after about 17 hours, 20 mins standby and that included a 45 minute workout. My watch drops about 10% for a 45 minute workout.

I have the titanium with an active cellular plan. Easily get through the whole day with at least 30% left, including 60 min workout a day. I think most of the battery issues that people initially experienced had mostly been fixed with the latest update.

Though I see the other thread some people are still having issues. So who knows what’s really going on.

I think everybody’s usage will be different i suppose. I’m hoping everybody will be ok after 6.1...sometimes it’s an app that is causing issues. The apple podcast app was the source if my first issue where it would die at 17%.

Actually, going on runs is the only time I wish I had the cellular model. I usually use Spotify for my music, but I cannot use that on my runs as offline music is not (yet) supported with Spotify on the Apple Watch.
